Divisions
Tantilla LLC is organized into two complementary divisions: Tantilla Consulting and Tantilla Art. Led by Michael E. Dorcas, Ph.D. (also cited in scholarly publications as Michael Dorcas and occasionally as Mike Dorcas), these divisions reflect more than 30 years of experience in scientific research, communication, and the visual interpretation of the natural world, connecting scientific expertise with both applied consulting work and detailed visual representation of biological subjects.
Tantilla Consulting
Tantilla Consulting provides independent scientific consulting services focused on research design, scholarly communication, manuscript development, and technical review. Services include peer-review–level manuscript editing, research design assessment, grant and proposal feedback, and expert evaluation of biological and ecological content. This work draws on Michael E. Dorcas’s extensive experience as a researcher, author, reviewer, and funded investigator.

Tantilla Art
Tantilla Art presents original wildlife artwork and fine art prints grounded in the principle of art informed by science. Drawing on decades of experience as a zoologist and field biologist, Michael E. Dorcas creates work that emphasizes anatomical accuracy, realism, and close observation. Each piece reflects scientific understanding of the natural world translated into detailed visual expression.
